Retail sales near pre-Covid levels in February, says Retailers Association

Updated Mar 17, 2021 | 11:22 IST The monthly survey by the Retailers Association of India shows that sales have reached 93 per cent of pre-Covid levels. Retailers are hopeful of reaching pre-pandemic levels in the first half of 2021. RAI s January survey showed that overall sales were down 17 per cent in comparison to January 2020. Five years ago, Central Group forked out more than $1 billion for the Big C chain. However, despite accelerating growth in the retail market, Central Retail’s performance in the country began to slip after the deal. Most of the key branches in big cities reported a decrease or no growth in revenue.
