Big hearted staff and families thanked for foodbank donations

Mixetto/ Getty Images BIG-HEARTED staff and families have been thanked for donating food and essential supplies to help struggling families during this latest lockdown. Staff at Brook Primary School in Wordsley asked parents and carers of children who attend the school to donate to its temporary food bank. Staff have also been generous in their donations. The school hopes to use the food bank to support families in the area, who may be feeling the pinch during this challenging time. The food bank is also open to the general community within the school’s location. So far more than 100 items have been donated and a number of families have received parcels.

Further tributes paid to Amblecote crash victim Jenny Batty

Jennifer Batty pictured holding her god daughter Sharni Loach FURTHER heartfelt tributes have been paid to Amblecote crash victim Jennifer Batty. The 59-year-old, who ran school uniform shop Totally Uniform in Kingswinford, died after being hit by a silver Vauxhall Insignia at the Brettell Lane junction at around 7am last Friday (December 18) while walking her dog Rebel. She was taken to Birmingham s Queen Elizabeth Hospital but died from her injuries - despite the best efforts of emergency medics who tried to save her - leaving friends and family devastated. Jenny, as she was known, was a popular figure in the community - particularly the school communities of Wordsley and Kingswinford.
