Linskey, 57, of Wall Township, was sworn in before state Superior Court Assignment Judge Lisa P. Thornton, sitting in Freehold, in a ceremony on June 2, according to a press release from the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office. The oath was administered after Gov. Phil Murphy selected Linskey to become acting prosecutor. Linskey succeeds Christopher J. Gramiccioni, who resigned earlier this month after nearly a decade as prosecutor.

West Lampeter Township police launch new registry for residents with special needs

The West Lampeter Township Police Department launched a new registry this week to better serve residents with special needs, the police department announced. The voluntary Special Needs Registry that launched Wednesday is open to all citizens with special needs who reside, attend school or are employed in West Lampeter Township, the police department said in a news release. Applicants provide first responders with vital information regarding their special needs, emergency contact information, a physical description and a current photograph that will be kept in the registry, according to the news release. The registry was created to help police and other first responders better assist residents with special needs in the event of an emergency, police said. Â All information on the registry is confidential and will only be used by first responders during an emergency.

Cranford Police Deploy Sensory Communication Kits in Squad Cars

February 26, 2021 at 1:46 PM CRANFORD - A forward-thinking police officer, a generous Cranford-based business, and the Police Department’s Community Outreach Unit combined efforts to create and deploy “Sensory Communication Kits” in all primary radio cars in Cranford. According to the release, Officer John Rattigan, a 16-year veteran of the force and paramedic, saw the value in providing officers with a kit comprised of self-soothing tools, ear protection, eye protection, and whiteboards to be used during crisis situations in which hypo and hyper-sensitivities may affect an officer’s interaction with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). After he assembled a prototype and pitched the idea to the organization, the Cranford Police Department created an additional seven kits to outfit police vehicles in the Patrol Division, Juvenile Bureau and Community Outreach Unit. One kit will also be housed inside police headquarters.

City of New Orleans, Orleans Parish Communication District Launch Citywide Vaccine Waitlist NEW ORLEANS Today, the New Orleans Health Department (NOHD), New Orleans Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness, and the Orleans Parish Communication District announce the launch of the Citywide Vaccine Waitlist. “COVID-19 has had a disproportionate impact, highlighting longstanding inequities in the health of many groups in our community,” said NOHD Director Dr. Jennifer Avegno . “Providing the COVID-19 vaccine to seniors of color, low-income seniors, and those with functional and access needs continues to be a top priority for Mayor Cantrell and the New Orleans Health Department. This waitlist will help us ensure that New Orleans’ most vulnerable residents have access to the vaccine.”
