US blogger Cynthia Ritchie and former interior minister and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Senator Rehman Malik have ended the court litigation against each other.
The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Thursday accepted Ritchie s request to withdraw a petition seeking the registration of a criminal case against Malik for allegedly raping her in 2011. Justice Amir Farooq dismissed her petition.

Based on the number of buildings recently affected, the number of students and staff who now need to quarantine and the time required for contact tracing, New London Public Schools will need to close all schools to in-person instruction through Jan. 29.
The Central Office building is also affected and will transfer to working remotely as well, the superintendent said.
All staff and students will have distance learning until Feb. 1, when the district plans to resume its hybrid model.
All students will receive live teaching throughout the day, including Wednesdays.
New London Longtime New London school administrator William “Tommy” Thompson, the target of a 5-month-long internal investigation, has submitted his resignation as part of a separation agreement with the school district.
Thompson had been on paid administrative leave since July 1, when the school district informed him it was investigating “possible unprofessional conduct and violation of Board policies.” Details of that investigation have yet to be made public.
The district has since dropped its investigation and, as part of the Nov. 30 agreement, will allow Thompson to resign in good standing with a letter of reference. Thompson will return to work in the district on Jan. 4 and recently was informed by Superintendent Cynthia Ritchie that he will be working remotely, performing assessment and curriculum work in the adult education department.

New London It wasn’t just an ordinary steel beam.
The bright yellow beam lowered into place by a crane on Tuesday was part of a topping off ceremony marking an early but significant step in the $108 million construction project at New London High School, now known as the New London High School Multi-Magnet Campus.
The completion of the steel frame of the new addition to the school is considered a milestone after years of behind-the-scenes work to get the long-delayed project on budget and underway. Work on the addition started earlier this year.
“That beam is symbolic, but we’ve accomplished a big milestone. Once you get that steel completed, things start happening very quickly,” said Douglas Rogers, director of construction and facilities for the Capitol Region Education Council, the group overseeing the project.
