Maharashtra deputy chief minister and district guardian Ajit Pawar has directed the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) to not dismantle the jumbo COVID care centre (CCC) at the College of Engineering, Pune (CoEP), till further notice. The centre is reportedly a huge financial liability for the civic body. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Shivajinagar, Siddharth Shirole, brought up the issue at the district administration’s weekly COVID review and analysis meeting chaired by Pawar. The MLA urged the state should not shut down the CoEP CCC till all citizens are fully vaccinated and there is more clarity on the third wave.
