The venerable Stockyard Inn, one of Lancaster County s oldest dining establishments, will soon be closing at its longtime location along Lititz Pike just north of Lancaster city.
The property is slated for redevelopment by its new owners, but the Fournaris family, owners of the restaurant, have assured customers that the Stockyard Inn will live on at some location yet to be determined.
Known not only for its steaks but also for seafood and cocktails, the restaurant has long been an institution of the county s dining scene, attracting people from all walks of life who wanted a night out in a traditional steakhouse environment.

1. Mule Day Auctioneers Championship
This weekend kicks off with an event that brings a little of the Mule Day spirit back with one of its more popular competitions.
The 2021 Mule Day Auctioneers Championship, begins at 8:30 a.m. Friday at the Tennessee Livestock Sale Barn at 1231 Industrial Park Drive. The event also supports the Columbia Breakfast Rotary Club s College Scholarship.
Rent deferment extended again for some tenants in city-owned buildings

For the fourth time, and now extending beyond a year since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, the city of Denver has created relief for some of its tenants through rent deferment.
At Tuesday’s City Council meeting, the body passed without objection or comment a measure that extends the length of the rent deferment for seven leases in city buildings through at least 12 and as many as 15 months. It’s the third extension of a measure that was originally introduced last spring and passed May 6, 2020.
The businesses are the Subway in the Justice Center Garage and the one in the Webb Building on Colfax; Coffee Etcetera in the courthouse; Dazbog Coffee in the Webb Building; the Russell’s Convenience in the Webb Building; Pizza Republica at the Denver Convention Center; and Wellshire LLC, which operates concessions on Wellshire Golf Course.
