Cedar Springs High School all clear after deputies investigate early morning threat

CEDAR SPRINGS, Mich. â Cedar Springs Public Schools say law enforcement responded to the high school after they received a bomb threat Monday morning.

Students and staff were moved to a secure location while Kent County Sheriff s office deputies searched the building.
Cedar Springs Public Schools Closed After Bomb Threat
Cedar Springs Public Schools are closed following a bomb threat made to the high school Thursday morning.
As of 9:24a.m., Cedar Springs High School is on lockdown. Wood TV 8 reports that authorities are currently investigating.

According to the Kent County Sherriff s Office, busses en route to Cedar Springs Public Schools were diverted and students were taken home.
In a post to Facebook, the school says the threat was limited to the high school. As a precautionary measure, all students have been taken to a secure location off campus and will have support provided, supervision from staff, and meals.

Schools in Kent and Ottawa counties made up the bulk of closings.
Among Kent County schools with snow days: Byron Center Public Schools, Caledonia Community Schools, Cedar Springs Public Schools, Comstock Park Public Schools, Grandville Public Schools, Kent City Community Schools, Northview Public Schools, Rockford Public Schools and Sparta Area schools.
Schools closed in Ottawa County include Allendale Public Schools, Coopersville Public Schools, Grand Haven Area Public Schools, Holland Public Schools, Hudsonville Public Schools, Jenison Public Schools, Spring Lake Public Schools, West Ottawa Public Schools and Zeeland Public Schools.
