Murder suspect discovered amid load of undocumented migrants
Man wanted on warrant out of Orange County, California
PLASTER CITY, Calif. (KYMA, KECY) - El Centro Sector Border Patrol agents say they took a wanted, and presumably dangerous, criminal into custody Monday afternoon when they intercepted a smuggling attempt.
Agents say just before 4 on Monday they started following a suspicious Chevy Silverado as it headed westbound along Even Hewes Road in El Centro. They say they saw several people in the truck s bed try to hide themselves from view.
Agents say they signaled for the truck to stop, but the driver took off, heading north on a road normally reserved for off-road vehicles. Border Patrol says the driver eventually got stuck near Superstition Mountain. Agents say the driver and all nine passengers tried to escape on foot.

Border Patrol intercepts 67 pounds of meth
El Centro Sector Border Patrol agents arrested a woman on grounds she attempted to smuggle methamphetamine through an immigration checkpoint Saturday morning, a U.S. Customs and Border Protection release said.
The incident occurred about 6:45 a.m., when a gray 2009 Dodge Journey approached the Highway 86 immigration checkpoint. After a K-9 detection team alerted to the vehicle in the primary inspection lane, agents directed the vehicle to enter the secondary inspection area for further investigation.
During their inspection, agents discovered 42 packages hidden inside the rocker panels of the vehicle. The contents inside of the packages reportedly tested positive for the characteristics of methamphetamine. Agents arrested the driver, a 24-year-old U.S. citizen, and held her for further processing.

Mexican human smugglers risked the lives of a migrant mother and her two small children by moving them over a 30′ section of a border wall in California. Surveillance camera operators captured the incident early Thursday morning.
El Centro Sector Border Patrol camera operators observed a man being lowered from the border wall about three miles west of the Calexico West Port of Entry at about 3:15 a.m. on April 22, according to information obtained from Border Patrol officials.
A few minutes later, smugglers lowered another man over the wall this one with a small child clinging on his back, officials stated. The smugglers then lowered a woman holding another small child.
