Head injury victim died of heart attack, brother says
A man who died Monday at El Centro Regional Medical Center after being found unconscious with a head injury in a driveway of the 400 block of Neckel Road actually died from a heart attack, according to a family member.
Russel Reeves left his job at Western Mesquite Mines early Monday about 8:15 a.m. after he reportedly began feeling ill, according to a family member who identified himself as his brother, Jarrad Reeves.
Jarrad Reeves said Russel took about two steps from his pickup after arriving home when he apparently collapsed and hit the back of his head, resulting in the head injury.

El Centro, California - U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the El Centro Sector arrested two illegal aliens Wednesday evening with prior convictions for a sexual offense.
The first incident occurred at approximately 7:58 p.m., when agents assigned to the Calexico Station encountered a man who illegally entered the United States 35 miles east of the Calexico Port of Entry. Agents placed the man under arrest and transported him to the El Centro Sector Rally Point for further processing.
Records checks revealed that the man, a 39-year-old illegal alien from Mexico, was previously convicted on July 14, 2010 in Santa Ana, California for Great Bodily Injury, Sex with a Minor and Lewd Acts with a Child. El Centro Sector Border Patrol agents called on to save abandoned immigrants
OCOTILLO, Calif. (KYMA, KECY) - El Centro Sector Border Patrol agents rescued more than five undocumented migrants in just the past 24-hours.
It started around 4:30 Sunday afternoon will a distress call from an immigrant saying he and three others were lost in the desert. The caller said they d crossed the border illegally about 20-miles west of Calexico.
Agents found the group in the Jacumba Wilderness Area near Ocotillo. Border Patrol gave all four water, and confirmed they needed no medical assistance. The migrants were later expelled back into Mexico.

Agents respond to call for assistance - save man with health issues
OCOTILLO, Calif. (KYMA, KECY) - El Centro Sector Border Patrol agents teamed up with Mexican officials to save a man with medical issues who d spent eight days lost in the wilderness.
Agents got a call from the Mexican Consulate on March 12. They say Mexican officials described a call for help from someone traveling with a group of undocumented migrants. The consulate said smugglers had abandoned a man on March 7 in the mountainous area south of Ocotillo, because he couldn t keep up. Officials say the man suffered from diabetes and a heart condition.
