On June 21, 2021 officers with the Crime Suppression Unit, Drug Enforcement Unit and the Emergency Services Unit charged 46-year-old Nicole Breton of Echo Bay, Ontario and 52-year-old Gary Levar with firearm offences.
Around 6:00 p.m. officers executed a search warrant at a residence in the 300 block of Patrick Street. Upon entry officers located the two accused and they were arrested without incident. During a subsequent search officers located a .38 calibre revolver with the serial number tampered with, ammunition and approximately 220 grams of a substance believed to be cannabis hashish.
The organizer of an illegal gathering at Bellevue Park is facing charges under the Reopening Ontario Act.
In a press release issued this afternoon, Sault Police say officers attended the May 22 gathering to ensure it remained peaceful and to investigate the gathering.
Police say they identified one person, from Springwater Township, Ont., as having organized the event, and the individual was charged.
While on the scene of Saturday s event, officers say they attempted to charge two other attendees under the Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act (EMCPA). They refused, and will be receiving a summons in regards to the charge, police say.

Sault Police have arrested Shawn Blais after it is alleged that he threatened to shoot a victim yesterday morning.
In a news release issued today, the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service says officers responded to an Albert Street West address shortly before 10 a.m. and located and arrested the accused.
At the time of his arrest, police say the 44-year-old was in possession of replica firearms as well as suspected methamphetamine and fentanyl.

On May 9, 2021 officers with Investigation Services and Patrol Services charged 44-year-old Shawn Blais with weapon offences.
It’s alleged around 9:53 a.m., the accused threatened to shoot a victim. The victim was able to contact police and officers responded in the 500 block of Albert Street West.
