Sault Police have arrested Shawn Blais after it is alleged that he threatened to shoot a victim yesterday morning.
In a news release issued today, the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service says officers responded to an Albert Street West address shortly before 10 a.m. and located and arrested the accused.
At the time of his arrest, police say the 44-year-old was in possession of replica firearms as well as suspected methamphetamine and fentanyl.

On May 9, 2021 officers with Investigation Services and Patrol Services charged 44-year-old Shawn Blais with weapon offences.
It’s alleged around 9:53 a.m., the accused threatened to shoot a victim. The victim was able to contact police and officers responded in the 500 block of Albert Street West.
Charges have been laid in a May 2 incident where a firearm was appointed at a victim.
Police say that around 3:47 p.m., a man attended a residence in the 300 block of Albert Street West and pointed a firearm at a victim then left the area. The accused and the victim are known to each other.

Officers located the accused around 4:05 p.m. in the 200 block of Gloucester Street and he was arrested.
A search of the accused’s home as completed. Officers found a replica firearm, a round of .22 calibre ammunition, a 12 gauge shotgun shell and a mountain bike which had been reported stolen.
A search warrant Tuesday yielded seven arrests and seven Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act violations.
Officers with the crime suppression Unit, drug enforcement Unit, emergency services units, and patrol services, carried out the search warrant at a residence in the 300 block of Albert Street West, where those accused were discovered, police say.

A subsequent search of the area of arrest found the seven accused to be in possession of a sawed off shotgun, four rounds of .410 calibre ammunition, a .22 calibre ammunition casing, and small quantities of suspected methamphetamine and fentanyl.
