Priest set to resume service | News, Sports, Jobs

Buccicone The state Attorney General’s Office has closed its investigation of a Cambria County priest, according to the Diocese of Altoona-Johnstown. Tony DeGol, secretary for communications for the diocese, said that no further action will be taken about a complaint concerning the Rev. Ananias Buccicone, OSB, who will resume his assignment as pastor of Queen of Peace Parish in Patton effective today. “I think just about everyone is happy to have him back,” Patton resident and Queen of Peace Church member Barbara Barnosky said. “He really holds us all together, and he was very missed.” Buccicone had been on leave since October after an accusation of inappropriate conduct involving minors.

To see a full obituary or leave a condolence, please visit Gary’s Book of Memories at www.bchfh.com. UNION Gary Michael Leach, 75, passed away unexpectedly at his home on December 8, 2020. Gary was born May 2, 1945 in Union to Allen and Hope Leach. He was raised in Union and graduated from Union High School in 1963.  Following his graduation, Gary joined the Navy. He did two tours of duty in Vietnam and was so proud of the time that he served.  He was honorably discharged after four years of service.
