After an unprecedented senior year for most college students, local universities plan to give graduates in person ceremonies starting this week.
Sarah Metts has the details on what attendees need to know before heading out the door.
The long awaited graduation day students from Penn State, Saint Francis, and Mount Aloysius college are gearing up for the big day.
Penn State plans to hand out more than 14,000 diplomas starting this Friday University Park students in person events will be held at Beaver Stadium rain or shine.
However, officials say if there is they will call off ceremonies and they will not be rescheduled.
Bellfonte Mascot Update 6:24 pm
The Bellefonte Area School District will make a decision to either keep or remove the school’s Red Raider’s nickname.
A few weeks ago the school voted 8 to 1 to remove the school’s longtime Native American mascot imagery.
Over the past year the topic has sparked many debates and rallys by alum, students, and Bellefonte residents, both to keep the mascot, and to remove it.
Those who want to keep the Red Raider nickname say it is a way to honor the culture.
While others say it is racist.
The meeting started Tonight at 6pm.
BJC Vaccination Center 11:15 pm
A regional vaccination clinic is coming to Centre County just in time to help vaccinate those in phase 1a and 1b across the state.
Sarah Metts has the details on what you need to know about the new location.
Centre County located right in the center of the state, making it an easily accessible in all directions.
The Wolf administration says the Bryce Jordan Center will serve thousands not just from Centre County but from its surrounding areas.
“To be able to leverage resources like Penn State University, to get as many people in the state and in the area through the vaccine clinic and get them vaccinated we need to get everyone that we can, and who is eligible vaccinated so we can return to normal. “
