More complaints made against DCPS school; mother claims son s emergency wasn t handled correctly

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. It was not the way Sara Hastings hoped to see her son when she picked him up from Westview K-8 School Tuesday. He was bleeding from his forehead. The wounds weren t covered. You could physically see how deep they were on the head, she told First Coast News.
An accident report filed by the school says the five-year-old was pushed by another student just before dismissal, causing him to hit his head on a metal bookshelf.
But now that Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds has announced that the state will end the federal unemployment programs in less than a month, Hansen is panicked. I thought I had three to four months, Hansen, 54, said. And now it s just like, You have 30 days, find a job.

States across the country have announced an early end to their federal unemployment benefits, surprising millions of Americans who thought they could rely on the checks until Sept. 6, when they were set to expire under the American Rescue Plan, the $1.9 trillion stimulus package passed in March. Some states are stopping the benefits as early as June 12. The cuts could impact more than 3 million people.

A WOMAN who accused her former employers of sacking her because they believed she may be autistic has lost her claim for alleged discrimination.
Sarah Hurst, 48, from Goring, is considering appealing after a tribunal judge ruled that the Department for International Trade had valid reasons for dismissing her.
She was seeking £40,000 in compensation from the the department where she worked as a senior investigator for nine months from October 2018. She was claiming discrimination based on sex, age, and perceived disability.
Ms Hurst was fired in June 2019 for “failing to meet the required standards expected” after managers raised a series of concerns about her communication skills.

DULUTH, Minn. – Last week, the prep girls lacrosse season began for teams all across the Northland. It was also the start of the head coaching career for the leader of the Duluth Wolfpack.
Sarah Hurst was named the hew head coach of the team just a month and a half ago. She says she’s been out of the game for a while now, but her experience coaching tennis as well as as an educator has made the transition seamless, even with the lack of practices leading up to the start of the season.
