More complaints made against DCPS school; mother claims son s emergency wasn t handled correctly

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. It was not the way Sara Hastings hoped to see her son when she picked him up from Westview K-8 School Tuesday. He was bleeding from his forehead. The wounds weren t covered. You could physically see how deep they were on the head, she told First Coast News.
An accident report filed by the school says the five-year-old was pushed by another student just before dismissal, causing him to hit his head on a metal bookshelf.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. A devoted mother and wife, a caregiver and a caring friend is how Shawn Anderson describes his wife Jennifer, an exceptional education teacher at Westview School. Jennifer is an energizer bunny. She s fun. She likes to smile. She loves hugs, he explained.
Jennifer is in rehab now learning to walk and talk again after Shawn says she suffered a brain aneurysm inside her classroom in May. He claims the school didn t get her help quick enough and he blames a school policy.

The event was the first Ask-A-Lawyer event sponsored by a voluntary Bar association and we are thankful for the efforts of Gregory Redmon and LaTonya Smith in organizing the event.
