Microsoft, channel partners team up with Women Rising coaching program

Microsoft Australia has partnered with career and leadership coaching organisation Women Rising to run a program to help women in the IT industry take the next step in their careers. The program is available to both internal Microsoft employees and the wider Microsoft channel partner ecosystem, with some 150 participants already signed up. The all-virtual program runs for six months, combining evidence-based positive psychology, neuroscience and behavioural studies rolled into one, as well as the latest in gender research, leadership development, wellbeing principles and human flourishing. Attendants will receive eight modules, including 32 masterclasses and live coaching sessions. An interactive community forum is included to help encourage mentoring, community sharing and networking.

Mixed scorecard for champions of change Share The founding members of advocacy group The Champions of Change Coalition have recorded a mixed scorecard in an analysis of workplace gender balance and the promotion of female employees. Nearly half of the original member organisations reported either a fall or no change in the proportion of female key management personnel, a study by the group, which earlier this month changed its name from Male Champions of Change, found. Elizabeth Broderick, a former Australian sex discrimination commissioner, says changing entrenched practices is a difficult task.  Tim Bauer Two of the original members, Qantas and Telstra, recorded falls in the proportion of women employees overall, while three of the 14 organisations conceded that the promotion of female employees was below the overall representation of women in their workforces.
