SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (Seminoles.com) – The Florida State Men’s Golf team simply got the job done in Monday’s decisive final stroke-play round at the NCAA Championship.
Shooting a 7-over 287 on Memorial Day, the Seminoles secured one of the coveted eight spots to reach the NCAA Championship Match Play Quarterfinals held on Tuesday at Grayhawk Golf Club. Based on the stroke-play finish, FSU will be the 6 seed facing No. 3 seed Pepperdine at 9:20 a.m. ET.

FSU looked to its four-year leader for the big shots down the stretch in order to hold on to a Top eight finish. Clinging to an eighth-place spot through the first nine holes, John Pak carded a critical two-hole stretch where he recorded an eagle on the par-5 11th followed by a birdie on the par-4 12th.

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (Seminoles.com) – Florida State Men’s Golf showed is true mettle in the third round of the NCAA Golf Championship as it carded a 6-under 274 at Grayhawk Golf Club.
The low score vaulted FSU up to fifth place in the stroke-play portion of the championship to secure a Top 15 spot and advance to the final stroke-play round on Monday. The 6-under score shot by the Seminoles on Sunday tied for the low score of the day with championship leader Oklahoma State. FSU tied with Liberty among teams making the biggest leap on the leaderboard, moving up five spots from its 11th-place start.

PGA TOUR University Ranking, while Brightwell is projected to improve three spots to No. 10.

Clemson, S.C. Clemson will begin play in the NCAA National Championship Tournament on Friday (May 28) at Grayhawk Golf Course in Scottsdale, Arizona as the number-four seed in the 30-team tournament.
Larry Penley’s final Clemson team will have a veteran lineup, as all five players have experience in the NCAA National Tournament. The lineup includes four seniors and one junior, although two of the seniors have indicated they will return for next season by taking advantage of the extra year of eligibility granted by the NCAA to all players due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
