It’s one of CNY’s first ‘ghost kitchens.’ It’s set to roll out ‘mad burgers’ this week Updated Mar 15, 2021; Posted Mar 15, 2021 A selection of the burgers from Mad Burger Co., a new delivery-only ghost kitchen in Syracuse.Anthony Tringale / Eat Local CNY Facebook Share There will be no signs marking the building that houses the new business called Mad Burger Co. in Syracuse. If you knock on the door, even during business hours, no one is likely to answer. The door will probably be locked. Mad Burger, which opens Friday, is a place where you can get specialty hamburgers, a hot chicken sandwich and a few other items. But it’s not your ordinary restaurant. It’s not even an ordinary takeout place.

George Smith: Wild crops abound to harvest, put up as we fall toward winter By George Smith Share Longtime columnist George Smith, whose work filled this space every Wednesday for three decades, died Feb. 12. For the next several weeks, we will reprint some of George’s best columns. Here’s one from Oct. 19, 2011. Warblers arrive in the spring garbed in colorful clothing, but they head back south in the fall dressed in drab colors. There’s got to be a message there, but those of us who don’t follow the birds south are too busy getting ready for winter to recognize it.

The Day - Mystic Restaurant Week, running March 1 to 7, has a different look this year - News from southeastern Connecticut

As a business reporter, I write about small businesses opening and closing, manufacturing, food and drink, labor issues and economic data. I also do some education reporting, covering colleges in southeastern Connecticut and regional K-12 issues. #EatLocal: WBKR Offering FREE Remote Broadcasts to Restaurants

Here at Townsquare Media Owensboro/Evansville, we are excited to announce a brand new campaign that celebrates our local restaurants.  Late last year, we celebrated local businesses with our #WeLoveLocal initiative.  In March, we re turning our attention specifically to local restaurants with our new #EatLocal campaign. Here at WBKR, we understand the impact the COVID-19 pandemic has had on local restaurants.  Over the last twelve months, they have been closed at times.  They ve had (and still have) their inside dining capacities restricted and so many workers in that industry have had a difficult time navigating the crisis financially.  So, as we thaw from winter and look forward to spring (with vaccines and hope for a return to normal on the horizon), we want to celebrate a restaurant rebirth.  So, we re encouraging YOU to #EatLocal.
