EPCOR receives grant to build reclaimed water pipeline PHOENIX — The Arizona Department of Water Resources has awarded EPCOR USA a $250,000 grant to help build a new reclaimed water pipeline for the benefit of San Tan (formerly Johnson Utilities) customers, agricultural water users, and the San Tan Valley region. This supports water management goals in the Phoenix Active Management Area by reducing demand for groundwater pumping. Under the terms of the Lower Colorado Basin Drought Contingency Plan (DCP), Arizona stakeholders agreed to offset Central Arizona Project water reductions to agricultural users by making alternate sources available. EPCOR is the only private water company participating in the DCP Mitigation Agreement.

The Arizona Corporation Commission voted to approve the transfer of ownership of Johnson Utilities to EPCOR on December 22, 2020. The financial transaction and formal transfer of ownership was completed on January 29, 2021, opening a new chapter for Johnson Utilities customers and for EPCOR.  What does the ownership transfer mean for customers?  EPCOR s mission is providing clean and safe water and wastewater service to their customers. The former Johnson Utilities service area will now operate as EPCOR s San Tan water and wastewater districts. Cooper Lamb was booked into a Maricopa County jail late Wednesday on suspicion of aggravated assault and possession of dangerous drugs, said Sgt. Joaquin Enriquez, a Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office spokesman. Mark Lamb had asked the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office to take over the investigation into the July 8 crash in the San Tan Valley area.

Missing Arizona woman Jessica Goodwin, whom authorities and loved ones agreed disappeared under mysterious circumstances, was found alive over the weekend. Investigators said they were able to trace phone records to an Indian Reservation outside of Phoenix, where they found the 28-year-old Sunday afternoon dehydrated and in critical condition. She was airlifted to the hospital and as of Monday morning, the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office announced that her health was improving. This is the outcome we have all been hoping and praying for,” Pinal County Sheriff Mark Lamb said in a statement on Twitter.

The sister of an Arizona woman who was found severely dehydrated Sunday after vanishing a week earlier is urging the public to be patient, as her family still has no details as to what happened yet.   Angelina Goodwin told Fox News that her 28-year-old sister, Jessica, is still in a hospital Tuesday recovering and responding to treatment.   When Jess is released, she is going to need so much support. I made a GoFundMe account for her to help with bills and things when she gets out, Angelina Goodwin said. Just asking for privacy for Jess as she recovers and heals from this terribly traumatic event.
