With the flip of a few switches, a dark bowling alley suddenly sprang back to life in Mira Mesa. In the Gaslamp District, an unique magic experience is taking center stage.
Plus, a blossom of foodie adventures await San Diegans as San Diego Restaurant Week kicks off later this week.
It’s the moment San Diegans have been waiting for – the orange tier. NBC 7’s Audra Stafford has more on how local business owners are reacting to expanded reopenings.
So, San Diego Restaurant Week (SDRW) had opted to deliver a springtime edition of the event, which runs from April 11 to April 18.
In pre-pandemic times, the 8-day dining event would showcase 180+ San Diego-area restaurants offering prix fixe lunch and dinner deals. It’s a way for locals to try that new restaurant they’re been hearing about without spending too much – and a way for restaurants to try to bring in new customers.

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) San Diegoâs return to some form of normalcy continues with the launch of Restaurant Week next week.
The annual week of discounted, prix-fixe menus in eateries across the region normally happens in January, but it was postponed because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Upwards of 90 restaurants from the South Bay to Fallbrook are participating, offering two-course lunch menus ranging from $10 to $25, and three-course dinner menus from $20 to $60.
Andy Baumann, chair of San Diego Restaurant Week, told ABC 10News that the majority of restaurant staffs have been vaccinated over the last month. He said organizers circled April 11-18 on their calendars, before they even knew on-site service would be allowed.

SAN DIEGO COUNTY, Calif. San Diego leaders along with restaurant owners held a press conference at The Fish Market in Downtown San Diego to introduce the San Diego s 2021 Restaurant Week. The spring rendition of Restaurant Week aligns to support the restaurant industry as it progresses into safe reopenings.
The 8-day event has expanded to provide more dining to bring additional aid to struggling restaurants. The event kicks off on Sunday, April 11 and will run through Sunday, April 18. San Diego Restaurant Week will feature 100 restaurants that will offer variations of prix fixe menus at much cheaper than normal prices.
