Concho Valley PAWS Live Released 97% in February
SAN ANGELO, TX – San Angelo s animal shelter hit a huge milestone last month by achieving no-kill status.
According to the Concho Valley PAWS during the month of Feb. the shelter had a live release rate of 97% which makes it a no-kill shelter.
No- Kill is defined as a shelter that has a less than 10% euthanasia rate allowing for severely injured or severely aggressive animals to be humanely euthanized. That means 90% or more animals must be released alive via adoption, transport and owner redemption.
Five years ago, the San Angelo Animal Shelter was considered a high-kill shelter because over 80% of the animals that entered the shelter were destroyed.
