The Santa Barbara City College Board of Trustees approved a resolution that will require students and staff to be vaccinated for COVID-19 if they want to enter campus.

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - The Santa Barbara City College Board of Trustees appointed an interim president and superintendent Wednesday.
Helen Benjamin is a familiar face at SBCC. She previously came out of retirement and served as SBCC s interim president in 2019.
She ll be doing the same once again this time around.
Benjamin was chancellor of the Contra Costa Community College District from 2005 until 2016.
Earlier this week, the college announced Utpal Goswami resigned from his position as superintendent and president.

Santa Barbara City College is expected to have new artificial turf in late August, just in time for the Vaqueros football team to play a scrimmage against Ventura College.
SBCC’s first scheduled event on the field is Aug. 21. The start time has yet to be announced as of this week.

The Santa Barbara City College Board of Trustees on Thursday evening explored proposed plans to resume on-campus operations and a mandatory COVID-19 vaccination requirement for students and employees ahead of the fall semester.
