The artificial turf at La Playa Stadium is 11 years old, which is three years beyond its eight-year warranty and expected life span, the school’s athletic department said in a previous board meeting. We couldn t be happier that the turf project is going to be moving forward,” SBCC Athletic Director Rocco Constantino said. “The current turf is in dire need of replacement, and I am grateful to our supporters, administration and the board members for recognizing that.
“We want a facility that we can take pride in and one that is safe for our students and the public to use, and we will now be able to move in that direction.”
