Fire department checks jail for gas leak [Santa Cruz Sentinel, Calif.]
Dec. 19 SANTA CRUZ Staff at the Santa Cruz County Jail called the Santa Cruz Fire Department to check on a report of a gas leak early Friday, Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Ashley Keehn reported. The call was triggered and later cleared after an employee felt lightheaded when entering the South Housing Unit of the jail.
The fire department responded and made sure that there was nothing in the air and that nothing was leaking, Keehn said. Everything came back negative. No inmates reported feeling ill.
“It was all handled very quickly,” Keehn said.
