Authorities have identified a person of interest in the fatal shooting of a Southfield husband and father, Fredric Hudson, 48, gunned down outside his home Sunday at around 7:50 p.m.
Southfield Police Chief Elvin Barren hasnât released the personâs name, but said he is a 25-year-old male with a âsignificantâ criminal history and ties to Southfield. While he hasn t yet revealed a possible motive, Barren said the shooting was not random and Hudson was targeted in the attack.
The person of interest fled the scene in Hudsonâs car, a white 2013 Toyota Tundra. Police are looking for the vehicle, with the Michigan license plate CPA-1749.

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. (FOX 2) - Police in Southfield said the victim of an apparent carjacking got in a shootout with the suspect over the weekend in the driveway of his home.
A 48-year-old man, who s been identified as Frederic Hudson, was shot dead. Police believe the other person involved in the shooting was also shot multiple times and is in the hospital in critical condition Tuesday.

SOUTHFIELD, MI – A 48-year-old man is dead after he was shot when someone carjacked his vehicle on Sunday, Dec. 27.
The carjacking was reported to Southfield Police around 7:50 p.m. Sunday, WDIV Local 4 reports. Upon arrival, police found the carjacking and gunshot victim, a 48-year-old Southfield man. He was in a driveway where police believe he was arriving. Shell casings were found at the scene, police said.
The victim was transported to a hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said. Police have not released the victim’s identity.
Police have not identified a suspect. The suspect fled the scene in the victim’s white 2013 Toyota Tundra pickup, police said.
