Man fatally shot in carjacking, unknown suspect fled

SOUTHFIELD, MI – A 48-year-old man is dead after he was shot when someone carjacked his vehicle on Sunday, Dec. 27.
The carjacking was reported to Southfield Police around 7:50 p.m. Sunday, WDIV Local 4 reports. Upon arrival, police found the carjacking and gunshot victim, a 48-year-old Southfield man. He was in a driveway where police believe he was arriving. Shell casings were found at the scene, police said.
The victim was transported to a hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said. Police have not released the victim’s identity.
Police have not identified a suspect. The suspect fled the scene in the victim’s white 2013 Toyota Tundra pickup, police said.
