El Poble-sec is one of eight
barris of the Sants-Montjuïc district and spans roughly 460.5 hectares (4.6 sq km) between Avinguda del ParaÅlel and Montjuïc. TRNSMT Festival.
TRNSMT boss Geoff Ellis has vowed to bring the festival back this summer despite continued uncertainty around live events due to COVID-19.
The Glasgow three-day event was cancelled in 2020 and is currently set to return in July with the Courteeners, Liam Gallagher and Lewis Capaldi topping the bill.
Ellis has now cited the successful rollout of vaccines in the UK and rapid mass testing as the key to ensure TRNSMT’s return, while warning that “it’s crunch time for summer 2021” (via

It comes after the Scottish government’s deputy national clinical director, John Harden, told Ellis that the significant easing of restrictions could be discussed in mid-February.

It was almost like a normal Saturday night: hundreds of ticketholders arrived at Barcelona’s Sala Apolo on Saturday December 12 to see performances by Renaldo & Clara, Mujeres and DJs Marta Salicrú and Unai Muguruza. People were even allowed to dance.
But this concert was put on by Primavera Sound festival in collaboration with local medical officials. All attendees had to take rapid antigen and PCR tests for the virus before entering. And organisers hoped that the results would show whether live music and nightlife can return in 2021 without social distancing.
Primavera Sound invited its database of contacts to take part, in order to ‘do concerts normally and safely, without losing any of the attractions of the experience of live music’ – like standing, dancing, drinking and mingling with other fans.
