The Nebraska Department of Correctional Services says Patrick Carey returned to the Community Corrections Center-Lincoln on Tuesday after he left his assigned job on Monday.
They say his electronic monitoring device was found in a toolbox at his job.
Carey started his sentence on June 27th, 2017.
He was sentenced to 10 years to 17 years for charges out of Lancaster and Buffalo Counties that include assault by a confined person, second degree arson, and use of a deadly weapon to commit a felony.
Carey has a parole eligibility date of November 9th, 2021 and a tentative release date of November 19th, 2025.

(Lincoln, NE) An inmate is reported missing from a Lincoln community corrections facility.
The Nebraska Department of Correctional Services says Davaughn Johnson went missing from the Community Corrections Center-Lincoln on Wednesday. Prison leaders say just before 2:00 Wednesday afternoon, staff were conducting a search of his cell and located a cell phone. NDCS says half an hour later, Johnson was found to be missing from his room. A review of surveillance video showed him jumping a fence at the facility and going east on Van Dorn Street, according to NDCS.
Johnson started serving his sentence on August 29, 2012. He was sentenced to 13 years and two months to 23 years for multiple charges out of Lancaster County that include: accessory to a felony (murder), terroristic threats, assault on an officer and assault by a confined person. He has a tentative release date of March 31, 2030, which was scheduled to have been completed under parole supervision. John
