455 trainees graduate from INS Chilka ANI | Updated: Jan 09, 2021 12:02 IST New Delhi [India], January 9 (ANI): A total of 455 new trainees of the Indian Navy and Coast Guard graduated from Indian Navy Ship Chilka on Friday at a ceremony marking the successful culmination of 12 weeks of ab-initio sailors training at the INS. Meritorious trainees were awarded medals and trophies by Vice Admiral AK Chawla, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief Southern Naval Command, a statement said. He congratulated the trainees for their turn out, drills and movements, and exhorted them to develop the highest degree of professionalism, knowledge, and competence in their respective careers. Alwin K R, Matric Recruit (MR) from Indian Navy, and Akshay Kumar, Navik (Domestic Branch) from Coast Guard have been adjudged the best trainees in their respective categories.

50-men Guard of Honour at INS Valsura on Thursday RAJKOT: Vice Admiral Anil Kumar Chawla, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Naval Command began his two-day visit to INS Valsura, the premier Electrical Training Establishment of the Indian Navy at Jamnagar on Wednesday. He was accompanied by his wife Sapana Chawla, who is also president of Navy Wives Welfare Association (Southern Region). Vice Admiral Chawla was presented with a 50-men Guard of Honour at INS Valusra. During his visit Chawla reviewed the progress of various infrastructure projects and training facilities of the establishment. While reviewing the training and skill set of trainees, the Vice Admiral appreciated the augmented training facilities in the field of electrical, weapons and information technology.
