KOTA KINABALU: Fifty sites in Sabah have been identified for the installation of the Very Small Aperture Terminal (VSAT) facilities this year, while another 300 sites have been earmarked next year in a bid to improve internet connectivity in the state.

KOTA KINABALU: Residents of Kampung Mengkapon, Pitas in Sabah will receive better internet coverage once the construction of a telecommunication tower in the area is completed in August. In a statement today, the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) said the tower was among 13 towers being built in the Pitas district and 50 telecommunication towers that were currently being built throughout the state. “The construction of the tower, which is being implemented under the National Digital Network Plan (JENDELA), will benefit the people of Pitas as well as transform the lives of the locals in facing the fast-paced digital era,” the statement said.

KOTA KINABALU: More than 300 residents in Kampung Gana, Papar and another 200 in Kampung Kumawan, Tambunan can now enjoy better internet access with ‘CONNECTme NOW’, a community-based high-speed prepaid broadband service via satellite. MEASAT Global Berhad (MEASAT) in a statement today said the initiative, in collaboration with the Sabah Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (KSTI), and the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) was in line with the continued commitment to power an inclusive future where everyone has access to the internet.
