The continued focus on elevating science, technology, and innovation needs to be further amplified at universities and schools by devising relevant programmes that encourage the participation of students.
“It is imperative that the younger generation are provided with opportunities to engage in activities that focus on science, technology and innovation,” said Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, Datuk Yakub Khan
He praised the efforts carried out by Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) in promoting science, technology and innovation among students, as well as at the university level
Two science centres estimated to cost RM10.2 million will be built by Petronas and the State Science, Technology and Innovation Ministry in Tawau and Sandakan.
To be set up at the Sabah State Library Tawau and Sandakan branches, the centres, expected to be completed in 2024, will help residents, especially students, to access learning, while raising awareness of the culture of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (Stem)
The State Government will sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) soon with Cyber Security Malaysia to train experts in cyber forensics in an effort to deal with cyber attack and data invasion
