IGP visits Battagram, holds meeting with DPOs

BATTAGRAM: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sanaullah Abbasi visited Battagram and presided over a high level meeting of the district police officers (DPOs).
The DPOs from Hazara division briefed the IGP about maintenance of law and order and performance of the police in their respective districts. On arrival at Battagram, a contingent of the police saluted the IGP.
He also laid a floral wreath on the memorial of martyrs and offered Fateha for them. He also planted a sapling at the police lines in Battagram. The DPO Battagram Tariq Sohail Marwat, DPO Torghar Qamar Hayat Khan, DPO Lower Kohistan Zulfiqar Khan Jadoon and DPO Kolai Palas Syed Mukhtar Shah and others attended the meeting. Appreciating the performance of the officers, the IGP said that the best strategy should be adopted to maintain law and order and check crimes.
PESHAWAR: Inspector General of Police Sanaullah Abbasi on Friday said that technology-driven policing was the need of the hour and the police force should equip itself with modern gadgets to meet.

PESHAWAR: The second phase of the training of former Levies and Khassadar personnel have been kicked off to train 4,350 of them who have become part of the police force after the merger of the tribal districts into KP.
It was stated in a briefing arranged at the Central Police Officer on Tuesday for Inspector General of Police Sanaullah Abbasi. Deputy Inspector General (Training) Muhammad Imtiaz Shah did the briefing. The police personnel were undergoing training at the Army Training Centers in the province, it was added.
The police chief was informed that 3,100 former Levies men and Khassadars would start receiving training from February 8 at the police training centres. As such, a total of 7,450 personnel would be trained in the 2nd phase in three months.

PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police has approached the Home Department to take disciplinary action against officers using unauthorised and illegally impounded non-custom paid (NCP) vehicles.
A letter has been sent to the Home Department in this regard.Inspector-General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sanaullah Abbasi a few months back had taken the initiative and directed all officials to return all NCP and case property vehicles to the concerned police stations. It was further instructed to hand over all the NCP and case property vehicles to the Customs and Excise Department for further disposal.
Sources confirmed that the police officers and officials had returned more than a 1,000 vehicles after IG’s instructions, which were sent to the Customs and Excise Department. These vehicles included the most expensive and precious ones.
