Pune Municipal Corporation (
PMC) has begun the process of installing new traffic sign boards on all major streets across the city. However, displaying its time-proved
apathy, the scrap of the older
signs that have been taken down is still lying unattended on the streets, covering most of the width of various footpaths.
This is creating a nuisance to pedestrians and commuters alike. Moreover, most of the affected roads have heavy flow of traffic and walkers, including Satara Road, Jangli Maharaj (JM) Road,

Five unidentified persons have impersonated as
crime branch policemen to demand ransom of Rs 30 lakh from a person working in a
nursing home on Satara Road. They also forced the man, Mandar Mandke, to hand over cash of Rs 75,500 from his account at an
ATM. A case regarding this has been registered at
Bibwewadi police station.
An officer from Bibwewadi police station said that Mandke (24) had lodged the complaint based on which two accused have been arrested, including a woman. The woman runs a beauty parlour. Both the accused together were threatening the complainant and also demanding money. The case is being investigated by assistant police inspector (API)
