BJP leaders of western Uttar Pradesh are meeting influential people among the Jat community and also reaching out to khap pradhans or community leaders amid the farmers’ agitation against the three central farm laws.
Senior leaders including Union ministers, state ministers, MPs, MLAs and party office-bearers have been involved in this outreach.
On Saturday, Union minister Sanjeev Balyan along with state minister Bhupendra Chaudhary, MLAs Tejendra Nirwal and Umesh Malik and the BJP’s western UP president Mohit Beniwal met heads of various khap groups. They met Ahlawat Khap head Gajendra Ahlawat, Deshwal Khap head Baba Rajinder Singh and the secretary of Sarva Khap, Subhash Balyan.
