Ghaziabad: A Pocso court has sentenced a man to five years in jail for molesting a 10-year-old girl in Loni area in 2018.
The court on Wednesday also imposed a fine of Rs 55,000 on the 55-year-old man and 75% of the amount will be given to the child’s family.
Special judge (Pocso court II) Ravindra Prasad Gupta found Subhash Chandra Dagar guilty under Pocso Act and Section 354 (outraging modesty) of the IPC.Special public prosecutor (Pocso Act) Sanjeev Bakharva said that the girl’s brother had lodged a complaint against their neighbour who allegedly harassed the child. He also alleged that the man would make obscene gestures at the girl. “The complainant said that the child had told the family that Dagar had called her to a room one day. On July 9, 2018, the girl’s brother said, he saw Dagar trying to catch hold of the child’s hand. He made a video of the incident as well,” Bakharva said.

GHAZIABAD: A 30-year-old man and his 70-year-old mother were on Monday handed the life term by a district court in connection with the rape and murder of a 13-year-old girl in 2015. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 1.6 lakh on the mother-son duo and said 75% of the amount would be given to the girl’s father.
Special judge (Pocso Court II) Ravindra Prasad Gupta found the main accused, Deepak Kumar, guilty under IPC sections 302 (murder), 364 (kidnapping) and 201 (destruction of evidence) and relevant provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act. His mother, Naresh, was convicted for kidnapping, murder and destruction of evidence.
