In an internal audit of various departments, Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has noticed that there are over 100 cases wherein officials have been claiming a transport allowance and still using office vehicles for daily transport and visits. An inquiry will now list out all such officials using dual benefits, to recover the amount from their salaries since the month of vehicle allotment. PMC further plans to discontinue their transport allowance until that official is utilising government vehicles.

But now, Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) had finally decided to stop this activity. The move follows major criticism from opposition parties and activists, blaming the civic authorities for allowing shoddy work and deliberate delays in competing road projects by May-end.
