As Covid19 Got Ferocious In NCR, Two Kashmiris Got Into Plasma Service
SRINAGAR: As the Covid-19 surge continues non-stop, it is a hospital bed, ICU’s and Plasma’s that is the top priority in Delhi and elsewhere. This frightening situation led to the creation of a heart-warming story rooted in Kashmir.
A Kashmiri Pandit and a Kashmiri Muslims have joined hands to come up to support Covid-19 patients in Delhi-NCR.
Adnan Shah, 19, is a journalism student from Kupwara. Then there is Sanjay Raina, a food entrepreneur who runs a Kashmiri restaurant in Delhi. Since April, the duo is running a Twitter handle @PlasmaNCR that helps people to tweet their plasma requests and highlights them until the match is found.
Humanity shines forth in crisis as people come together across lines of caste, class and faith in the fight against Covid-19. The pandemic has proven to be a medical and humanitarian crisis which continues to ravage families and communities. .

A Kashmiri Pandit and a Kashmiri Muslim have come together to help people afflicted with Covid-19 in Delhi-NCR. Delhi-based food entrepreneur Sanjay Raina and 19-year-old journalism student Adnan Shah from J&K together run @PlasmaNCR handle on Twitter where people put out requests for plasma and the handle amplifies them till a match is found.
Raina and Shah have been making about 150 matches daily since they started the handle on April 18. “Daily we receive 250-300 plasma requests from Delhi-NCR and from cities like Agra, Meerut, Chandigarh and even some from Kashmir,” said Shah.
Scrolling down the handle, there are request after request for plasma in a set format patient name, age, blood, contact and exact location. “We rely only on Twitter to get requests. We are constantly creating a list of donors with our own contact base neighbours, friends, professional contacts or social media contacts. At times, we have to personally go to pick up and drop
