MUMBAI: Some unknown persons are suspected to have broken into an unoccupied flat at Slum Rehabilitation Authority (SRA) building at Sainath Society in Sangharsh Nagar and stored 12.9 kg ganja worth Rs 2.58 lakh. Acting on a tip-off, the Sakinaka police team entered the flat with the help of panch (Witness) after breaking the door lock and seized the narcotic substance on Wednesday. Police are trying to identify the person who has stored the drugs in the flat. The team has sought tenant details from the SRA to find out whether the flat is empty or allotted to anyone. This is the second seizure of ganja from the same locality in the last one month.

Following a tip-off regarding a huge consignment of contraband hidden in a building in Sangharsh Nagar, a Chandivali suburb in north-east Mumbai, a team of Saki Naka police station raided the premises, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 10) Maheshwar Reddy said. The ganja was found hidden in a small flat in building no. 10 in the Slum Redevelopment Authority complex.

Mumbai: 345kg marijuana worth ₹51 lakh seized from Chandivali; one held Saki Naka Police arrested a 39-year-old man for the alleged possession of over 345 kilograms of marijuana worth over Rs 51.82 lakh in Chandivali on Thursday. The accused was arrested based on a tip-off. Police arrested and booked the accused under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and Narcotic Drug and Psychotropic Substance (NDPS) Act. According to police, during a constant crackdown on illegal drug rings, they had received a tip-off that a man was to arrive to deliver a narcotic consignment, based on which a trap was laid. Police accordingly raided a room in Sangharsh Nagar area and seized over 345 kg of marijuana, valued at ₹51.82 lakh in the international market, said senior inspector Balwant Deshmukh of Saki Naka police station.
