Historic case linked to Brisbane COVID-19 cluster
A historic case with a link to a recent Brisbane cluster has today been added to Queensland’s COVID-19 cases, taking the total to 1,502.
Chief Health Officer Dr Jeannette Young said the case, who attended the Byron Bay party, had been in self-isolation and there was no risk to the community.
“This case is linked to the second Brisbane cluster that originated from a Princess Alexandra Hospital nurse, taking the total number of cases linked to that cluster to 13,” she said.
“As this person had attended the party where COVID-19 spread to a number of people, they were placed into self-isolation at home and a testing routine commenced.

Police with the assistance of volunteers from the State Emergency Service (SES) have today, continued their search for missing 69-year-old Cleveland man, Anthony Roper.
Anthony Roper (pictured below) was last seen on March 19 outside a Cleveland service station at the intersection of Princess and Bloomfield street.
At the time, Anthony was wearing blue jeans, thongs and a shirt with dark stripes.
He is described as Caucasian, around 180cm tall, of a large build, is bald, has blue eyes and a slightly grey beard.
Multiple police and approximately 70 SES personnel searched through bushland, water ways and neighbourhoods in the Redland Bay, Thornlands and Cleveland areas.
A motorcyclist has died after a single vehicle crash in the Wide Bay area this morning. Initial inquiries indicate around 8am the 62-year-old Bundaberg.

Queensland’s screen industry is revelling in a long pipeline of film and television productions with the US hit show The Wilds Season 2 starting filming on the Gold Coast this week.
Cast and crew will utilise the Village Roadshow Studios, with location filming in Gold Coast Hinterland locations and beaches.
Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said the hit Amazon Original/ABC Signature series starring Rachel Griffiths, was just one of many high-profile projects that will be in production over the coming months.
“This is boom time for Queensland’s screen industry and it means jobs for Queenslanders, and millions of dollars for our economy,” the Premier said.
