UPDATE:
Two South Jersey residents were charged with animal cruelty this week after a SWAT team served a warrant at their home.
Gloucester County SWAT served a “knock and announce” search warrant at a home in the 1600 block of Atkins Avenue in West Deptford Township around 5:30 a.m. on Thursday, according to township police.
The warrant stemmed from an animal cruelty investigation conducted by West Deptford police, the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office and county animal control.
Felipe Echevarria, 33, and Brittany M. Morgan, 34, both of West Deptford, were charged with animal cruelty violations and released on summonses pending future court appearances, police said.
Anderson, 36, was shot as she attempted to leave the Deptford Crossing shopping center after a confrontation with a security employee in a Marshalls store.
She was one of three people who allegedly stole goods worth $3,400 from the store on Clements Bridge Road, according to an account from the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office. Store employees contacted police after recognizing the trio as alleged members of a theft ring, a court record says.
Clements fired three times as Anderson drove an SUV toward police officers, according to the prosecutor’s office. The shooting occurred moments after one officer was struck, but not seriously injured, by the vehicle s open door, it said.
After alleged killer’s spree, victim’s friends are left with troubling accusations

Sheila Ellington and Virginia Tinsley were shopping inside the Washington Township Wal-Mart along Rt. 42 in Turnersville, N.J. just before 5 p.m. on Sunday when they say a man came over the PA system and said: Attention Wal-Mart customers: All black people leave the store now. It was a disgusting comment, Ellington said. Once I heard that, I was absolutely shocked and appalled. The man was very calm when he broadcast the message, according to Tinsley.
