Clinton Township Planning Commission recommends development plan for restaurant Advertisement CLINTON TOWNSHIP A Chipotle Mexican Grill restaurant is one step closer to becoming a reality along Groesbeck Highway in Clinton Township, near the Mount Clemens border. At the May 13 Clinton Township Planning Commission meeting, a special land use approval and site development plan for a proposed Chipotle was unanimously recommended. The area is just north of Sonic, on the west side of Groesbeck Highway, south of Cass Avenue. Planning Director Bruce Thompson said the site was previously approved for a bank with a drive-thru, which never happened. “They want to construct a 2,331-square-foot restaurant,” Thompson said. “The site was designed into the overall commercial set of buildings that are south of it.”
