Katherine Nightingale, director, said: “Over six weeks, the young people received the ingredients for six main meals and six desserts with recipe cards and some kitchen utensils.
“So far, we have worked with 64 young people and we have funding to continue this project for the next 12 months thanks to the Fenland and East Cambs Opportunity Area.”

Four months ago, the Middle East Minister James Cleverly told Parliament “Many countries have turned their backs on the Syrian people; the United Kingdom is not one of them and we will continue to stand shoulder to shoulder with them in their time of need.” However, if the recent reports of a 67% cut to the FCDO’s Syrian aid budget are accurate, then the impact on the Syrian people will be devastating. We strongly urge the government to stand true to its promise.
The hampers are all being funded by the Government’s ‘Winter Food and Fuel grant’.
Where else is help available?
There will be sandwich lunches available from Chat-Tea at St John’s Church hall in March on Monday, Wednesday and Friday of half term, along with their usual offer of hot evening meals which are now all delivered.
Panini’s Coffee Shop will be offering sandwich lunches on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday for collection.

Cambridgeshire County Council will be providing vouchers to all children who usually receive Free School Meals, for use during February half term.

A football club, inspired by Marcus Rashford’s campaign to provide free school meals during half-term holidays, is hoping their latest initiative will be the start of supporting their community for years to come.
