KOLAR: Wistron Corporation in Narapura industrial area which manufactures iPhones has been shut down for seven days after around 60 positive cases were reported at the unit.
On the instruction of Kolar Deputy Commissioner Dr Selvamani, the unit has totally suspended all work from May 1 to May 7 and started disinfecting the entire premises.

After Saturday’s violence at Wistron Corp’s Narasapura facility near Bengaluru over alleged non-payment of promised remuneration to contract workers, overtime and around 12 hours shifts every day, the company had earlier claimed in their police complaint to have suffered losses over Rs 437 crore.

Kolar police officer said that damaging the property of the company where they are working at is not fair and said legal action will be initiated against the concerned.
