The United Championship Racing Alliance heads towards I-75 Raceway for the annual Spring-Loaded 604/Crate Late Model event Saturday night for round #3 of the Red Line Synthetic Oil 2021 Championship.
Nearly $10,000 in posted prize monies will be on the line for the 24 starters, that s being headed by Kenny Kizzar (#0) of Soddy Daisy, who has two top 5 finishes already in 2021.
Kizzar is flanked in points by Sam Seawright of Alabama and Mack McCarter of Tennessee, the series first two winners of 2021.
It ll be a whole new ballgame Saturday at I-75 Raceway as new ownership and management has taken over the facility and completely reconfigured the 3/8 s mile clay oval. It s now laid out like a paperclip shape, with higher banking.

The World Racing Groups: World of Outlaws Sprint Cars and DirtCar Big Block Modified invaded Bristol Motor Speedway for the first of two nights of the Bristol Throwdown giving race fans down south a couple race nights of action seldom seen around the Volunteer state. It s been 20 years since the WoO s raced the Bristol dirt.
Most of Friday s WoO racers were kids in 2001, the last time the track was covered with clay. David Gravel (#2) of Connecticut made a clean sweep of things Friday, setting fast time out qualifying 28 other race teams, winning the first heat race, then the dash and finally the $10,000 feature.

At Volusia Speedway Park outside Daytona, Fla., Saturday, the World of Outlaw Late Model series wrapped up its 2021 season opener weekend with a $10,000 Sunshine Nationals race. Virginia s Kyle Strickler held off Tennessean Scott Bloomquist for the W . Fellow Tennessean Jimmy Owens of Newport was fifth overall, while Dale McDowell of Chickamauga was ninth. In the twin Crate Late Model $10,000 race, Michael Page of Douglasville, Ga., repeated his Thursday night run against 63 other 604/GM Performance-powered raceteams. Kyle Bronson (Thursday s WoOLM winner) was runner up with Tennessean s Mack McCarter, Cory Hedgecock and Jason Welshan rounding out the Top 5 respectively.
