Allen County Commissioners dismiss Child Services Board President
By Trevor Hubert - thubert@limanews.com
LIMA The Allen County Board of Commissioners moved to dismiss the President of the Allen County Children Services Board on Wednesday morning. All three commissioners voted to remove Nadia Lampton due to her conduct on social media, which was deemed inappropriate. All ACCS board members are appointed to their positions by the Allen County Commissioners.
“The appointments that we make to these boards, we tell them in interviews, and we can’t stress it enough that every board member that serves in this county through an appointment is an extension of the three of us,” said Commissioner Beth Seibert. “That’s why when this came to our attention, we had to take an action of consideration that brought us to today.”
Allen County Commissioners approve depot demolition

LIMA The Allen County Board of Commissioners approved a resolution Thursday to demolish the old ODOT train depot in north Lima. The depot, located at the corner of North West Street and Chapman Road, has been abandoned for several years, but the property has been of great value to Allen County.
“Today we took the next step into bringing down the train depot out of the old ODOT property. County engineer, county EMA (Emergency Management Agency) and some other county entities are using the property,” said Commissioner Cory Noonan. “We appreciate the agreement with ODOT to use the facility.”
