Two minimum-security inmates walked off a job site on Monday according to the South Dakota Department of Corrections.
Dakota News Now says Shawn Patrick Mills, 44, and Ronnie Wanye Moore, 44, left the Sioux Falls Community Work Center without permission.
Mills is serving a five-year sentence with three years suspended for forgery and ID theft out of Minnehaha County. Mills was eligible for initial parole in October of 2021. Mills is 5 9 , 190 pounds with brown hair and eyes.
Moore is serving a ten-year sentence with five years suspended for his 6th DWI offense out of Codington County. Moore was eligible for initial parole in January 2023. Moore is 6 1 , 210 pounds with brown hair and eyes.

The South Dakota Department of Health reported Monday two additional people with COVID-19 have died, while 42 new infections from coronavirus were also reported.
The two new deaths brought the statewide total to 1,993. One person was aged 50-59 and 70-79. One was a woman and one a man.
The 42 new infections reflected the dramatic slowing of the virus in South Dakota. A total of 123,686 South Dakotans have tested positive for coronavirus.
Seven of the new cases were in Minnehaha County and three were among Lincoln County residents. Five were from Brown County and two in Codington County.
The number of active infections fell to 828, as the state reported that 102 people were newly recovered. The state hasn t reported more new cases than recoveries in two weeks.

More than 400,000 adults in the state have received at least one dose of vaccine, according to the latest data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. That equals about 60% of the state s adult population.
