KODAK â Not everyone gets the chance to go away to camp, but some youth will get the chance to experience what it is like thanks to a day camp held at Kodak United Methodist Church.
Kodak and Seymour United Methodist Church are partnering to provide a camp that runs through this week. It features all the traditional activities often associated with going away to camp, but children donât stay overnight, instead being picked up at the end of each day.
âIt is designed for children in the community who would not have the opportunity to do camp otherwise. You get the same camp experience. You just donât spend the night,â said Patsy Dalton, childrenâs director at Kodak UMC.
SEVIERVILLE â The Sevierville Fire Department is looking into land purchase options for a new fire station in Kodak.
Fire Chief Matt Henderson presented a few options to the Board of Mayor and Aldermen during a workshop Monday afternoon, including a five-acre section of land near the Kodak United Methodist Church or a 34-acre farm adjacent to the Sevierville Chamber of Commerce Welcome Center.
âAs we look at putting the station in Kodak we look at what we have right now, but weâre also trying to evaluate what our potential growth is in the future,â Henderson said.
Much of that growth includes residential and industrial areas, including many projects near the interstate.
