SEVIERVILLE â The Sevierville Fire Department is looking into land purchase options for a new fire station in Kodak.
Fire Chief Matt Henderson presented a few options to the Board of Mayor and Aldermen during a workshop Monday afternoon, including a five-acre section of land near the Kodak United Methodist Church or a 34-acre farm adjacent to the Sevierville Chamber of Commerce Welcome Center.
âAs we look at putting the station in Kodak we look at what we have right now, but weâre also trying to evaluate what our potential growth is in the future,â Henderson said.
Much of that growth includes residential and industrial areas, including many projects near the interstate. In the past year work has taken place on a new FedEx distribution center in the I-40 Industrial Park on Snyder Road on the north side of the interstate, and the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians is working on a multi-use development on a 198-acre piece of property on the southeastern section of t
