A man who is accused of fatally stabbing his wife over 30 times in Doney Park in 2019, will go to trial in October. The trial was slated to start in 2020, but the COVID-19 pandemic set it back. Back in March of 2019, now 40-year-old Timothy Duran and his wife, 35-year-old Crystal Morgan, were in their home in the Gemini Drive area, when Duran allegedly started stabbing her multiple times with a screwdriver. He left the area before authorities arrived and was later taken into custody by Yavapai County Sheriff’s deputies on Interstate-17 near the McGuireville Exit near Rimrock. Emergency personnel treated Morgan at the scene, but she was pronounced dead. Morgan had filed for divorce from Duran just three days before the attack. Police say that every time Morgan had threaten divorce, Duran would threaten to kill her. CHURCH WELLS, Kane County Kane County Sheriff s Office announced late Tuesday that it has made an arrest for the murder of Matthew Wayne Young, 49, of Church Wells.
Kane County Sheriff s Office detectives, in conjunction with the U.S. Marshals Service arrested Jason Thomas Bates, 38, in Flagstaff, Arizona on Monday. According to a press release, Bates was charged on suspicion of first-degree murder; two counts of first-degree felony discharge of a firearm with serious bodily injury; second-degree felony aggravated assault and third-degree felony possession of a firearm by a restricted person.
