CHURCH WELLS, Kane County Kane County Sheriff s Office announced late Tuesday that it has made an arrest for the murder of Matthew Wayne Young, 49, of Church Wells.
Kane County Sheriff s Office detectives, in conjunction with the U.S. Marshals Service arrested Jason Thomas Bates, 38, in Flagstaff, Arizona on Monday. According to a press release, Bates was charged on suspicion of first-degree murder; two counts of first-degree felony discharge of a firearm with serious bodily injury; second-degree felony aggravated assault and third-degree felony possession of a firearm by a restricted person.

Second-degree felony aggravated assault
Third-degree felony possession of a firearm by a restricted person
He was arrested Monday by U.S. Marshals without incident in Flagstaff, Arizona, and is awaiting extradition to Utah.
The sheriff s office said the investigation is still ongoing, and the Unified Police Department and the Utah State Bureau of Investigations are assisting.
